Relax Into Well-Being

"I've had trouble with my back and neck for the past 12 years. I've endured pain and headaches pretty much 24 hours each day, 7 days a week. I have found that the body is an amazing machine and the brain seems to compensate for the pain most times and fools you into thinking it's a manageable level so you can deal with it. However, there are those occasions when nothing seems to help ease the pain. Luckily, I had the good fortune to meet and befriend Alan Steed, a fabulous person and teacher at the school where I work. He had told me on many occasions about his "healing hands" and had offered to help to try and alleviate some of my discomfort. While sitting in the staff room, one day, Alan noticed I was having some pain and without a word, he got up from his seat and walked over to me. He asked if he could try to take some pain away. I agreed. Without touching me, he ran his hands over my back and neck. The warmth and comfort emanating from his hands was nothing short of miraculous. Almost immediately, I felt relaxed and very comforted. The pain subsided, the headache was gone and a feeling of calm had come over me. I was both amazed and extremely grateful. To this day, any time Alan offers to help, I accept without hesitation. I have never met anyone who could alleviate my pain and discomfort with just a "wave of his hand" so to speak.
